Rate of Force Development for Injury Resistance, Fall Prevention, and Sports Performance
Injury- and fall prevention are important for improving quality of life and reducing healthcare costs. Rate of Force Development (RFD) is a reliable predictor of injury risk and falling incidents, as well as an important metric in sports performance. Improvements to RFD, specifically early RFD, have a substantial impact on these metrics, since injuries and postural adaptations often occur before Maximal Voluntary Contraction (MVC) has been reached. The benefits and applications of eccentric overloading
Resistance training is a useful therapeutic modality for performance, injury prevention, rehabilitation, and fall prevention, but the load in traditional training is constrained by the maximal concentric capacity, so the eccentric phase is chronically understimulated. Eccentric Overload (EOL) outperforms traditional resistance training in strength gains, injury prevention, rehabilitation, and balance. The Reforter makes EOL easy through biphasic loading or its isokinetic mode. Read more
